New Delhi, May 12: Kerala's hill-station Munnar has been ranked as the second best tourist destination in Asia, according to the TripAdvisor’s 2010 Traveler’s Choice Destination awards.
In TripAdvisor’s 2010 Traveler’s Choice Destination awards, Tokyo emerged on top, followed by Munnar in the second spot and Siem Reap in third spot.
“Millions of travelers rely on TripAdvisor for travel inspiration. So we are thrilled and humbled that Munnar has been honored by travelers this year,” said Dr Venu, Secretary, Kerala Tourism.
“The TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards are particularly meaningful, as they are determined by real travelers,” he added.
The winners were determined by a combination of travelers' destination comments, favorite places, and overall destination popularity on TripAdvisor.

Besides attracting honeymooners, Munnar's tea plantations and serene hills ( Watch Video ) provides a great space for many to escape the city and to indulge in activities such as paragliding, trekking and rock climbing.
For nature lovers, Eravikulam National Park offers to give a glimpse of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr (ibex) along with other wildlife including ruddy mongoose and 120 bird species.
Being featured on the list alongside globally renowned places gives a huge boost to Munnar's image as a tourist destination.
