How to Install LaTEX?

For Windows users:
1. Use LaTEX editor (Led) and MikTEX 2.9. For presentations, add 'beamer' package in MikTex...also install xcolor, pgf using the package manager.

For Ubuntu users:

1. VIM-LaTEX

sudo apt-get install vim

sudo apt-get install vim-latexsuite

1. We need to make it system-wide, simply by sudo vim-addons -w install latex-suite;
2. We need to read the instructions that are available at /usr/share/doc/vim-latexsuite/README.Debian;
3. The instruction tell us that we need to add some commands to the file/etc/vim/vimrc, namely:

   filetype plugin on
   set grepprg=grep\ -nH\ $*
   filetype indent on
   let g:tex_flavor=’latex’

2. Kile

sudo apt-get install kile
